How We Work
Marie & Co. Design’s Process – Four Phases
1. Discovery Phase: Questionnaire & Budget Review
Every successful project starts with a strong foundation. During the Discovery Phase, we take the time to get to know you—your style, your goals, and what inspires you. We’ll visit the site, review your inspiration and vision, and walk through a detailed design questionnaire to better understand your vision for the space.
Following our Discovery Consultation, we’ll share an itemized list of requested and suggested deliverables alongside an estimated budget for each. You’ll also receive an estimate of our design fees, which are invoiced in advance at key project milestones. This not only helps clarify the scope of the project but also allows us to create a working budget that will guide us through each stage of the design process.
2. Concept Planning & Design Refinement
With your vision in mind, we move into the creative phase. Our team explores multiple layout options and gathers inspiration imagery to begin shaping the design direction. At this stage, we develop initial furniture plans and start to visualize how the space will be used and experienced.
Next, we dive deeper into the details. We present 2–3 cohesive design concepts per room, incorporating soft furnishings, lighting schemes, and key design elements that reflect your style. Together, we’ll review the concepts and refine them based on your feedback.
Once the direction is clear, we begin selecting specific furniture pieces and finalizing the details—like dimensions, finishes, fabrics, paint colors, lighting plans, and architectural elements such as internal doors, moldings, and built-ins. By the end of this stage, we aim to have a finalized design scheme for each room and a clear vision for the overall space.
3. Procurement & Installation
After final approvals, we prepare a detailed cost proposal and begin the procurement process. Once payment is received, we place orders and coordinate storage, deliveries, and installation timelines.
We manage logistics from start to finish—working closely with suppliers and contractors to ensure everything arrives on schedule and is installed seamlessly. Our goal is to deliver a seamless, turn-key experience from concept to completion.
4. Final Touches & Project Completion
After final approvals, we prepare a detailed cost proposal and begin the procurement process. Once payment is received, we place orders and coordinate storage, deliveries, and installation timelines.
